Bigotry Has Never Been About Hate

I was asked by one of my readers if I thought Racism still existed in America. Well the only way that I could answer that question is to qualify what most people think of as Racism. So I looked for different discussions about the subject. I found quite a few forums, but the one that stood out asked the same question as my reader, the forum was called “‘Reverse Racism’ - Is there such a thing?”. In this forum one of the responses made by onegoodwoman, points out that laws such as the Equal Rights Amendment are nothing more than tools to discriminate against white Americans, by saying, “I have, in a hiring capacity, been " legally " forced to hire one race over another, even when all qualifications are equal.” But to answer my readers question, on whether or not there is such a thing as Racism, I need to explain what the truth is a about Racism.

The truth be told. I feel that Racism, is only a symptom of our human desire to be the Alpha or dominant of the species. If you think about it, every special interest group in America has their own agenda and therefore are trying to override every one else's civil rights by forcing us to accept or even bend over backwards to accommodate for a small group of people who for one reason or another don't fit in. When realizing that there is safety in numbers, Man's political nature kicks in and the underdog or the Omega of a human culture begins to use the one weapon that equalizes all Men, politics. Remember that a law is only enforced if the masses agree to it. So the underdog uses Social Terrorism to presser a bill to pass, thus taking away the rights of the rest of the culture. If it is true that all men are created equal, that they are equally endowed with the same Rights, then the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) or Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) has become tools for our government to control and oppress the true minorities in the workforce of America, the White middle aged American male. In my neighborhood you never see a homeless black man. They all have jobs and own their homes. One can make an argument that the ERA was just a way to make the white man pay for his less than honorable past.

One more example of discrimination happened on Vancouver Washington's Public Transit System Rout 4, at 12:00 PM on 02/09/2012. The bus was standing room only and instead of switching to deboarding only, the bus driver told 12 of us to get off of the bus after taking our money so that a man in a wheel chair could get on. In Vancouver you don't get a transfer so the next bus had to be paid as well. So not only did our civil rights get infringed on by C-Tran those of us who did not by a bus pass at the beginning of the month got ripped off. Laws such as the ERA and ADA fit into the federal system of government assistance. While C-Tran may look to be the bad guy in this case they are only partly to blame.

After talking to a former C-Tran driver, I learned that the Driver was wrong in not giving the passengers a way to get on the next bus; which forced them to have to pay twice for the same ride, however, it is C-Trans interpretation of a law that was passed by special interest groups that forces the driver to show preference to the one wheel chair verses the 12 passengers who were both inconvenienced and ripped off just so one person cold get on the bus. I believe this concept of discriminating against the majority in favor of the minorities came from a Calvinistic misinterpretation of the Bible verse that reads, “I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save the few” (1 Corinthians 9:22).

According to Mr. Roy Blizzard of hubpages.com, “many people think that Saint Paul just adapted his teaching to their thoughts in their culture to reach them.” But to Paul there was not a big difference. This much is revealed with his comments elsewhere that, “there is neither Jew nor Greek, for are we not all created in the likeness of God?” But in modern America many of the more liberal politically motivated groups like to ignore the words, “are we not all created in the likeness of God” (Saint Paul) or to put it another way, “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable RIGHTS” (Thomas Jefferson). Whether you are quoting one of Paul's Encyclicals or the Declaration of Independence, the truths remain self evident, that any member of God's creations deserves respect by virtue of being created in the image of God.

When we discriminate against any one we are indirectly infringing on everyones civil rights. Once we begin to let the rights that have been given to us by God, be squashed, we open the door to government oppression. By virtue of being a child of God, a gay man has all of the same rights as a straight man, as long as he chooses to live with in the confines of God's law. The problems arise when the Gay man who wishes to live his chosen lifestyle and reject God's law, begins to force others to tolerate the lifestyle and thereby assumes more rights than every one else. No one seems to think about the fact that a heterosexual couple making out in public would be told to get a room, but a Gay couple in the same situation would more than likely be ignored, do to the fear of being politically incorrect. So I think it is time that the majority that is meant to rule in this fallacy we call Democracy, but has been treated like the minority for way too long, makes a stand. For the “memories of our life, works, and deeds, will live on through others” (Rosa Parks).

People don't like to think about it, but this overly preferential treatment toward American special interest groups has killed our economy. In Vancouver the opened disdain for the homeless costed 28 small business owners their lively-hood after the Seventh Street Transit Center was forced out by the Hilton Hotel Corporation. The hope was that the new Convention Center would bring in new jobs, but the Hilton brought in their own people. The result was 28 small businesses added to a already growing unemployment rate. In Vancouver over 90% of our homeless happen to be 35-50 year old white men. Once again we can than the ERA for most of the homeless in my small town.

I mean it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that Mankind has never been at the top of the food chain. So we use our intellect to adapt to the situations at hand. We fight amongst ourselves and use law as a much more effective weapon to execute revenge that any knife, sword, gun or missile. As I said, racism, is only a symptom of our human desire to be the Alpha, to dominate over our fellow man. It has never been about hate, only human nature or the primitive desires of the natural man. Contrary to what some people think, white people did not invent racism. Racism was referred to in the Bible, the most obvious example is found in Luke, Theologians call the story the Good Samaritan. However, the Democratic party did create the Klu Klux Klan (KKK) and for a long time had the market cornered on Hate in America. So I could see how some of America's less educated could think that Racism is a white man's creation. After all the Democrats have always been overbearing in nature which could be why the group saw fit to put on white sheets and burn crosses, the act was about domination.

Because the early members of the Democratic party were mostly of Calvinist Puritan descent, we could see where the belief that not only was racism a white man's idea but also a Christian teaching. Although it is not true one could see where the idea came from. Nevertheless, John Calvin's pour interpretation of scriptures led to a wide spread belief that the African American bared the mark of Cain, as described in Genesis; which only added fuel to the early American lust to dominate over another man. But slavery was not the only gift the Puritans brought to the New World. Just like the Democrats, the Puritans hated people that were willing to work. You see the Magistrates of Puritan America were making money off of renting their slaves to the farmers who did not own slaves. Therefore they would find any reason to imprison the white community members who were contracting out as laborers. As I said before, they hated any one who would work for a living.

The white laborers were looked upon as cursed by God. For according to Calvin, your worldly possessions as well as you position in the community were signs of your standing in Heaven. Therefore, those who owned nothing and had to rent a place to live was look at as less than the value of a slave. As a result of these teachings the laws that govern over our American tax laws tend to favor the top 1% of America's population. Although I will never agree with Occupy Wall Street, the patterns of preferential treatment are clear.
